Mr ZHAO, Minhua 趙 民 華

Graduated top of his class at the Beijing Dance Academy in 1979, Zhao Min Hua joined the National Ballet of China and was promoted to principal dancer in 1980.
Along with performing many major classical dance roles with National Ballet, Zhao was awarded 4th prize at the Osaka Japan International Ballet Competition (1984), 3rd prize Bronze Medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition (1985), and invited as a guest artist at the UNESCO Gala in Moscow (1986). The same year, Rudolf Nureyev invited Zhao as a guest principal dancer in Don Quixote for Paris Opera Ballet.
Zhao Min Hua joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as principal dancer in 1988 and then Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in 1989 where he danced for 10 years as principal dancer. He joined the Dallas-Fort Worth Ballet from 1999 to 2001 and then the Miami City Ballet from 2001 to 2003 as principal dancer.
Zhao Min Hua taught at the Zhejiang School of the Arts in Hang Zhou, China from 2002to 2005 and wasguest teacher inthe Miami City Ballet, the National Ballet of China, the Guang Zhou Ballet, the Sheng Zhen School of the Arts, the Shen Yang Conservatory of Music, and the Jean M. Wong Ballet School Hong Kong. In September 2005, Zhao Min Hua was appointed Lecturer (Ballet) at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
