艾袓華博士( ORCID識別碼：0000-0002-2833-8949) 現為香港演藝學院副校長（學術）。他接受戲劇和表演訓練，取得人文科學學士學位、管理科學學士學位、戲劇碩士學位及戲劇博士學位，在過去二十多年的學術生涯中，先後於美國和英國擔任不同崗位及涉獵不同範疇。他是一位活躍的學者，著作甚豐，研究領域廣泛涵蓋各學科和跨學科，於多份學術期刊、編輯文集等發表論文，並曾指導十多項博士生項目。近年他的研究範疇包括食品研究及表演。

多年來艾袓華博士為不少機構擔任顧問，於2019至2021年間他為高等教育戲劇協會(Association for Theatre in Higher Education，ATHE) 擔任會長，以及該協會提名委員會會長 ; 在任期間，他創立並主持首屆會長峰會，推動表演藝術在高等教育的重要性，同時改善和系統化對表演藝術教育的支援。艾袓華博士更獲顧問公司 Hyphens and Spaces 委託，研究反種族主義實踐及對大學課程的影響。他曾出任 ATHE 表演研究焦點小組的主席，亦是該小組年會會前會議創辦人之一，該會議由2003年開始舉辦至今。他於2010年當選為 ATHE 會議副會長，並為美國戲劇研究協會 (American Society for Theatre Research， ASTR) 協辦2016 年年度會議。

艾袓華博士在高等教育方面貢獻良多，範疇包括研究、教與學以及學術質量保證等。他現為英國藝術與人文研究委員會同行評審學院(UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Peer Review College)成員，定期為AHRC 和英國研究與創新機構 (UK Research and Innovation，UKRI)轄下研究委員會評審資助申請。艾袓華博士是英國高等教育學院(Advance Higher Education) 高級院士，專責評審獎學金申請、國家教學獎學金、環球教學卓越獎和卓越教學合作獎。現時，他為四家學術期刊的編輯委員會成員，定期獲邀評審各出版社和期刊的投稿，當中包括密歇根大學出版社、Routledge出版社、紐約大學出版社、加州大學出版社、杜克大學出版社、Theatre Journal、Contemporary Theatre Review、Modern Drama、Food、Culture & Society 及 Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença。

他經常獲邀到世界各地演講，並為表演研究相關的國際會議以及美國烹飪學院(Culinary Institute of America)等發表主題演說。在他展開其學術事業前，他曾在美國多個城市工作，先後涉足表演和戲劇，並曾擔任 Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett 公司的管理顧問。
