Student And Alumni Achievements
Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Theatre
Technical Arts was awarded to 29 students, Professional
Diploma to 8 students, Professional Certificate to one
student, Advanced Diploma to six students, Advanced
Certificate to two students and Foundation Diploma to
65 students.
Design graduate, part-time Design lecturer and former
Artist-in-Residence for the Department of Theatre Design,
Kelvin Tsang Man-tung, was awarded Best Artist (Drama)
at the 2008 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards.
At the 18th Hong Kong Drama Awards Presentation
Ceremony, Costume graduate (1996) Kenneth Leung,
was awarded Best Costume Designer for

The School welcomed Cheung Fung-man as Lecturer in
Stage Management and James McGowan (from the Royal
Scottish Academy of Music &Drama) as Lecturer in Sound.

exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Christopher
Johns (Head of Entertainment Design and Technology)
was the Sound Designer, Leo Cheung (Senior Lecturer in
Theatre Lighting) was LightingDesigner, andMakKwok-fai
(Lecturer in Theatre Lighting) assisted in technical support
together with EDT and fast-track programme students.
Christopher Johns attended a Meyer Sound and Cadac
seminar in Shanghai and the USITT Conference in
Cincinnati USA. He and Dean of School met with Cirque
du Soleil and representatives from Macau University
to discuss the formation of Entertainment Design &
Technology programmes in Macau.
