Admission & Audition

Undergraduate and Post-Secondary Programmes 2020/21

Audition and Selection Requirements:

In addition to meeting the Academy pre-requisites for entry into their chosen programme, applicants will be invited to attend an audition and interview to ascertain their suitability for entry into the school.


Local Audition

In view of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, to secure safety for our selected candidates, the 1st and 2nd audition originally scheduled on 19 and 26 April 2020 will be cancelled. School of Dance has decided to change the audition format from face-to-face audition to video submission. This is to avoid risks of cross infections among applicants during the audition process. Details please refer to the email we have been sent out to individual applicants. 



Degree in Dance & Diploma in Dance Foundations

First Screening

  • Juried audition technique class

Second Screening

  • Physical assessment by the Academy Physiotherapist
  • Technique
  • Improvisation
  • Repertory Class
  • Interview to ascertain suitability and motivation for entering the preferred programme


Overseas Audition 

Please note that we don't offer overseas audition for Year 2020-21. If you are interested to apply for the programmes of School of Dance, please submit your application form online.


Non-local Applicants​

In special circumstances, non-local applicants unable to attend an audition at the Academy may be invited to submit a recently-made DVD recording of 20 minutes’ duration with a certified statement that it is the applicant’s own performance. The video should include a technique class and a solo (in the applicant’s choice of major dance study).


Master of Fine Arts in Dance 

Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview and take English language admission tests between February and May.
