CPAR re-runs its well-received professional development course for you to get firsthand experience in Practice-as-Research!


In this course you will design and implement Practice-as-Research projects that relate to your practices as a teaching artist. Every participant will develop their own PaR project by constructing a research design, documenting their work, analysing the documentation and considering ways to present the outcomes of their projects. The projects will build upon teaching performing and technical arts at the Academy, and be supported by workshop activities that stimulate reflections on topics related to the participants’ teaching and learning practices, including:


-   What it means to be a teaching artist

-   Designing and implementing curriculum for creative practice

-   Teaching styles, facilitation skills, modes of delivery and assessment practices for the arts and culture


Facilitators: Chan Yuk-Lan Phoebe & Lam Yin Krissy (Centre for Performing Arts Research)


Participants: Full-time academic staff members


Length: 8 workshop sessions (2.5 hours each) + 8 hours of online learning
